A blanket term for any root like system of pipes and wires that grow autonomously. Originally created on Vibre to help the Planetists there build and modify their cities. There are many types of Vibrelium that serve different purposes. Sometimes they can be modified easily by inhabitants other times they're tightly regulated by local governments. Not all Vibrelium can coexist but it is common for them to be able to interface with each other.

In addition to transporting data and materials autonomously across large distances they can be used to build above ground structures. The most common type of Vibrelium fruiting body are mushroom-like solar towers. They help to provide energy to the entire network. Because of the value Planetists put on interconnected systems and sharing of data these solar mushrooms could also be used as computer stations. Other types of fruiting bodies include climate controlled rooms, lighting, and even larger structures such as towers.

The types of Vibrelium that non-Planetist tend to use are much less advanced. They usually have less fruiting bodies and require a lot more manual work to hook up with more standard technology. They're still based on Planetist designs though. Some areas would revere Planetist nearly as magicians for their ability to control and interface with local Vibrelium.

A Planetist's connection to Vibrelium runs deep. It is a core part of their religious beliefs. Vibrelium can be seen as the base that all systems leading to a World Mind build off of. In this way it is important to care for and respect Vibrelium above all else, even human lives. While people may have a say in how it is shaped or used it must always be done with care.
