When the General Galactic was formed its boundaries were set in stone. The people thought they had discovered all the inhabitable planets and tightened the boundaries around them. As it turns out there was a single solar system with habitable planets outside of the defined boundaries. These planets are communally referred to as the Bog Plague Market. All variety of illegal activity happens here as the General Galactic doesn’t police them. Any type of weapon you can imagine, drugs, A.I. development, cloning, all of it can be found at the Bog Plague. Probably the worst part of the Bog Plague is that the General Galactic recognizes any property laws from outside of the boundaries. So if any slave is sold in the Bog Plague, even a human one, the General Galactic doesn’t revoke ownership upon entering its boundaries.

One of the planets in the Bog Plague Market has a moon that’s been nicknamed The Arena (pending, come up with better name). Though the atmosphere contains a breathable amount of oxygen there are also several toxic gasses that need to be filtered out to make the air life-sustaining. It is used mostly for illegal weapons testing and genetic research. In The Arena there is only one rule: If you find it you own it. Some people go there for fun, some go there to get better at fighting, others go to test weapons, and a rare few actually make a living scavenging and reselling things they find. The low gravity allows for some amusingly impractical weapons designs, such as bigger sized mechs and large, genetically modified animals. Most people do not survive The Arena long enough to get back off the planet, and due to the low orbit space combat a lot of people don’t even make it onto the surface.
