A group of people strongly believing in the existence of World Minds. Depending on the group they can be very religious. They believe that humans are meant to facilitate the emergence of World Minds and build their cities and planets in a way to pursue that. Their technology tends to be autonomous and works in abstract ways that's impossible for any individual to understand. To a Planetist a human is simply a single piece of a larger whole that they couldn't understand, in the same way a cell can't understand a human.

After the Intelligence Wars Planetists were generally shunned. Though they never sought to specifically create AI in the way that kicked off the Intelligence Wars their ideas of automated and interconnected systems made a lot of survivors fearful. The General Galactic kept very close tabs on their groups post war. Between this and generally unfamiliar technology it created a deep cultural schism between Planetists and most other people.
