At the start of the Galactic Colonization, almost immediately after the First Ships launched, history of the home world was erased from the records. Almost all cultures were removed from the data banks, if they were even added to them in the first place.
Geometers were the most successful at maintaining their culture. As part of the contract for helping the Technologers launch the First Ships they were allowed to keep an obscured version of their teachings.
