The parts of the Life Canopy that are left over from after it died.
Surface Roots
Called the Guide Ranges by the Technologers. The Magicianers believe they are great roots extending far from the base of the Life Canopy. The theory goes that if these were mountains than the erosion coming off of them would have filled the ocean with sediment. They also believe the fractal nature of the Guide Ranges (larger ranges branches into progressively smaller ones) are visually similar to the roots of the coastal Not Mangrove trees.
Peak Mountains and Caves
Similarities to Not Mangrove don't end at the roots. The gradient of the mountain at its base is almost identical to the base of a Not Mangrove. The peak mountains form rough ring shapes similar to grains of wood sticking up from a decaying stump. Finally, the cave system at the peaks go almost straight down like channels meant to draw water up into the trunk of a tree.
