After splitting from Pizzazzlefraz's Boxed Breads as and siding with the Technologers, Zazzle's went on to see considerable success within the First Ships and on. Part of the First Ships' food supply was heavily influenced and developed by Zazzle's engineers. New types of grains, baking methods, and long term storage were all created for the purpose of space travel. R&D took several years and involved dozens of companies.
This research led to the changing of the exterior crust composition greatly. A clay shell was no longer required. The bread crust itself was very rigid and could contain liquid for years before soaking through. Before launch, Zazzle's supplied the First Ships with three years worth of preserved foods to give some time for the ships to safely establish crops. Roughly 5% of the First Ships' total population came from Zazzle's employees.
Once the First Ships started landing or becoming the Galactic Trade Fleet, Zazzle's naturally took place as the galactic food supplier. At first many small factories opened on planets and late generation colony ships. As the Galactic Trade Fleet and various agricultural planets stabilized the company centralized. It was one of the first and few companies to eventually establish their own private trade fleet. The fleet fed Core Planets and handled internal shipments, as well as trading to the Galactic Trade Fleet so they could supply Support Planets and space stations.
For many years Zazzle's was the only source of pre made foods. Many grocery stores were effectively Zazzle's retailers. Eventually a handful of competitors emerged but Zazzle's held the market for cheap non-perishables. Nearly every home in the galaxy and every station or colony keeps a stock of boxed breads.
